As taxpayers, all of us at JPL have a stake in public funding for science. UAW Region 6, in collaboration with JWU-UAW and other unionized researchers, submitted a letter to the Senate and House Appropriations Committees on October 7, 2025 urging them to release funding for NASA. UAW represents tens of thousands of researchers and scientists, many of whom are funded by NASA. The challenges we are facing on Lab cannot be solved by a few individuals: by coming together to form a union, and joining the 125,000 other researchers and academic workers in UAW, we have more power to navigate these uncertain times.
