JPLers have questions about forming a union – How would unionization work at JPL? How can a union help with the Lab’s present funding situation? What rights can we win and codify for JPLers as part of a union? What are some things a union can’t do?
These are important questions that should be answered in an open and transparent forum. JPL workers across Lab are coming together for an open JWU Town Hall on Friday, March 13, 2026 from noon to 1pm at von Kármán auditorium and virtually to discuss unionization with JPLers.

Our special guest, Representative Judy Chu (D-CA) of the 28th Congressional District of California, which houses JPL, will deliver opening remarks. A panel of fellow JPLers will then present information on the process to form a union at JPL, and what workers at JPL could accomplish by coming together. We will then have 30 minutes of open Q&A – questions will be submitted on an online platform, visible to all attendees to upvote, and answered in the order deemed most important by the audience.
